Does anyone know how much RBC arena cost to rent for the weekend? That would be good to know.

Jehovah's Witnesses, the government and MONEY....
by chapstick inmonday, october 22, 2012raleigh city council votes in secret to give jehovahs witnesses $150,000posted by will huntsberry@willhuntsberry on mon, oct 22, 2012 at 1:07 pmits typical for two affable jehovahs witnesses in oversized business suits to make the neighborhood rounds, knocking on doors.
but what about when the whole organization comes knocking at city hall?.
earlier this month, the raleigh city council voted behind closed to doors to give the jehovahs witnesses $150,000 to hold their annual convention in the pnc arena next year.

Cyruse> Holt definintley was a JW in 2010 when he got married. There is a link to his wedding photos in the comments section of the newspaper article. He was married in a Kingdom Hall. That means at the VERY MINIMUM he was in good standing as an active Jehovah's Witness in 2010. What has happened in the two years since I do not know. He may have been reproved, DF'd or made a servant. I do not want to speculate on things which are not facts. However it is a FACT that he was a witness in 2010. I also assume that since he was a Witness he also attended the same hall as Whitney since they lived in the same territory.

The Watchtower Attempts to Eliminate Discrepancies in Authority
by Emery ini began pondering about the reasons why this new light was made and have come to a few theories that may be plausible.
my conclusion is that the society is hell bent on eliminating the discrepancies to their authority.. .
the ancient lineage of the faithful and discreet slave - eliminated.

Most solid evidence I've seen linking WT to Mason, somebody try to debunk this lol
by EndofMysteries inwhat is in the background?????.
now read what was released and given to all convention attenders about the building of his gravesite, about what's inside it, and about who owns all the land.
from the book called souvenir report of the bible student's convention jan. 2-5, 1919 link:.

You know I have no love for the superfine apostles up there in Brooklyn, but this photo alone does not prove masonic ties. The building in the background is a masonic center, however it was built AFTER Russell was buried under his pyramid. If you could find proof that the Mason's owned the cemetary in the past or that it is a primarily Masonic cemetary ie. most other graves circa 1916 were masonic members that might help. The Pyramid itself is wrong there is no doubt about that but the center in the background is only damning if there is a direct tie to it from the WTBTS. Otherwise anybody could have built on that property. If the democratic national commitee built headquarters there that does not mean that Russell was a democrat unless he donated them the land.
However that does not prove that Russell was not a Mason either. I guess it is curios but no definitive one way or the other without more information.

New Light brings new questions
by Indian Larry inaccording to cedars blog:.
"the events described in matthew 24:46,47 now refer to jesus coming during the great tribulation and giving the governing body their reward in heaven along with the rest of the anointed.".
if this is true then how can they separate v.45 from v.46&47.

According to Cedars blog:
"The events described in Matthew 24:46,47 now refer to Jesus coming during the Great Tribulation and giving the Governing Body their reward in heaven along with the rest of the anointed."
If this is true then how can they separate v.45 from v.46&47. The scripture says the "the master on arriving" will appoint him. However that is ONLY if he is faithful. The parallel scripture in Luke 12:47-51 make it clear that the slave can either be faithful or NOT depending on his actions. Whether the slave is faithful or not is decided upon by Christ when he comes during the Great Tribulation.
What reasoning do they use to separate the identification of the FDS with its reward coming (at a minimum) almost 100 years later?

Rutherford's smear campaign (a must read)
by Leolaia inthere has been some interest recently about the moyle case, and how it may have set a precident in what became the society's disfellowshipping policy.
in july 1939, the chief legal counsel of the watchtower bible & tract society, olin r. moyle, resigned from his position in a protest over conditions at bethel and rutherford's mistreatment of workers.
he did not want to continue living under those conditions and he felt he could effect positive change for his brothers by taking such a stand.

All of these are good points. I have thought and thought about it. I have tried many of them. I think it comes down to this in her case. Willful ignorance. She has heard the facts, she just refuses to believe them. She won't read C of C or anything she feels is apostate. She is willfully ignorant. That is it.

I have been offline for a while. Thanks so much for the responses everyone.
Phizzy> I tried 607. It is like talking to a wall. “God has to have an organization, if it is not the WT then who is it?”
Smiddy> I tried all the old Russell and Rutherford stuff. She just puts it all off to “new light”
Leolala> The only thing so far that seems to have got through to her at all is the Conti trial and the UN/NGO mess. However she puts each off to individuals. Cognative dissonance.
DarioKehl> I will check out the YouTube channel you mentioned. - Thanks
Fistandantillus> I tried the canabalism idea. She can see it was wrong. She says those responsible will have to answer, but she can not see a link to today.
Designs> Socially outside of the org? Nothing. Her entire family is in the “truth” and they are a very close family. Mine is as well (I am 3rd gen). I have not gone to meetings for several years and everyone still treats me well.
FW Franz> I have tried the “false prophet” tact. She just puts it off as “old light”, if I get to close to actually getting through to her she starts crying and goes into another room. She just can’t/won’t face it.
Searcher> I made a note of Rev 20:12. I will research that later this evening
Dozy> Tried telling her about the change re generation and the prophecy in the masthead. No go. New light.
Rather be in Hades> I actually got her to listen to a little of the Walsh trial on the audio version of C of C.
Brinjen> 1975 was not so bad to her. That is the year her Mom was baptized.
Clarity> Rutherford his cars, his houses, the whiskey, all old news to her.
Blondie> I have used some of that info and it did help some. Not enough though.
End of Mysteries > I had read that post earlier. It has some good points but it may be too “deep” for her
Jaime de Aragon > Russell stuff does not phase her at all. Old history/new light
MC Rubber Mallet> Good points - Thanks
DesirousOfChange > This is the kind of stuff I am looking for. Clear examples of misquotes or taking something out of context that can not be a mistake but that shows that they do INTENTIONALLY mislead the members. I did make a little ground with her on some of the quotes about earthquakes. She just can not believe that the GB would ever try to intentionally mislead the flock.
Scenic Viewer> Thanks for those examples! I had never scene that particular one before. I will try that!
00Dad> Yes. JWFacts if a great site. I have found it tremendously helpful. I like the way he presents things. No vitriol, just facts.
I should have said earlier however that she found a book I had that was entitled “Questions to ask JW’s” I had put the dust jacket from another non related book on that one to keep it off of her radar. Unfortunately she found it and now anything I say she thinks is coming from that book, I have to have something that I can point to in either the mainstream news or the publications from the pas 20 years. Any other sites, stuff from the past, all that just bounces off of her like she is Superman. I am looking for kryptonite.
